Make the Most out of Your Statistics

As dull as the word statistics may sound, there is nothing better when it comes to understanding your candidates and their behavior.

What can you learn from your statistics and what are the key points to look at when analyzing the results?

1. What devices do they visit your site from?

It is incredibly important to know what devices your visitors are using. When you learn what they are using, you can make sure to adapt your communication and that way increase the number of visits from those devices.

For example, say that you want to have more visitors from mobile devices. Why, you may ask. The truth is that users on mobile devices are more prone to quickly share your content. Plus, if you have made the time and effort to make sure your site is mobile responsive, you're gonna want to have visitors from those devices :)

Also, if you make sure you get visitors from mobile devices, you will see an increase of visits at evenings and even weekends. That's great, because the visitor will have their guard down, and maybe like what they're seeing more than they would when they're at the office browsing.

2. Are your visitors sharing your job ads?

In a time where social media shares are the new hard currency, you want to keep track of your shares. Are you reaching out with your job ads as much as you can?

If you see that your job ads aren't getting the shares you'd like them too, start reviewing your job ads. As we've mentioned before, you need to start thinking like a marketer. Maybe your ads just aren't that appealing? As you know, ads that aren't standard, that have something special, have a tendency to be shared more often. (And of course a better chance of attracting someone with a great personality)

Make sure to engage your employees aswell. Let them know you'd be happy if they would share the ads in their channels, but never force them to.

This may sound like a given, but don't forget to upload the ads on your company's social media accounts. Be sure to upload them not only on Linkedin, but Facebook, Twitter and even Instagram. It'll pay off!

3. Where are they coming from?

Advertising on different channels and platforms isn't cheap. So it's crucial that you know where you're spending your money, and if it's paying off or not. Without knowing how those channels and platforms are leading traffic to your site, there's no way of knowing if it's worth it for your company or not. Maybe the free job-board is giving you better results than the super expensive one?
